I named my business Lauren Image Studios because it is my dream to own a studio one day. It is a form of manifesting, if you will. Right now, it may be a bit misleading, but I am setting my business up for future endeavors. Studio work is still doable right now, we just have to rent the space for the time being.
I had a beautiful maternity session in a studio recently. The space, called Grayscale Studios, was located in Jersey City. It was a gorgeous environment with plenty of natural light and many different options for variations of posing. Take a look at the finished product from this session:
Studio work is different than outdoor photos. I am typically a natural light photographer, so my own studio one day will have plenty of windows to let in the natural light. I do utilize off camera flash when necessary, so indoor lighting is never a problem. Indoor studio space is great for sessions that want a clean, homey vibe, such as newborn photo sessions. Even though the space may feel limited, as you can see above, it is still possible to get many variations of photos inside a studio. Lauren Image Studios can’t wait for the day it can call a studio its own, but for now renting studio space is a wonderful option for those interested in that type of look for their photo session.
